This fascinating article uses material from the State papers, and begins with the circumstances surrounding the escape from custody of French and Irish prisoners in 1702. The man responsible for keeping the prisoners safe seemed to have been involved in their escape, but the article then progresses into the involvement of Willim Dampier and Edward Morgan. The article concludes with the recapture of Captain La Touche and the movement of all French prisoners to custody further inland.
