Document: Fremantle and Trafalgar

The September 1805 letter, written by Vice-Admiral Sir Thomas Francis Fremantle whilst commanding HMS Neptune just prior to Trafalgar, gives a glimpse of what life was like for the senior officers in the fleet blockading the Spanish coast. Much is made by Fremantle of his relationship with Lord Nelson, who had recently joined the blockade in the Victory.
