The Foot Boat of Shaohsing

An interesting article, with drawings, of a small Chinese boat. Its unique attribute is that it is propelled and steered by an oar operated by the feet. These boats were to be found on the canals of Shaohsing, now known as Shaoxing. The author notes that these boats were disappearing with the increasing use of the diesel driven launch.
