Four Junks of Kiangsi

Abstract

The author, a River Inspector employed by the Chinese Maritime Customs from 1914-1948, wrote extensively about traditional Chinese craft on the river Yangzi. In this article he focuses on four type of junks of Kiangsi province giving details of design and construction, use and type of cargo carried. Drawings of the junks are also included.
