By G. W. Coopland, published August 1962

The author examines the writings of Philippe de Mezieres written post 1380 to share what those manuscripts tell us of the period. In particular he examines LE SONGE DU VIEIL PELERIN (The Dream of the Old Pilgrim), which although an allegory contains many thinly veiled elements from Mezieres┬╣ own experience. It describes maritime activity around Norway and the Eastern Mediterranean as well as the selection of suitable craft for an invasion including the best landing craft.
