The Guns of the Jesus of Lubeck

Abstract

The article reproduces a translation by Zelie Nuttal of a Spanish document listing the guns of the Jesus of Lubeck which was captured by the Spanish in 1568. The author adds detailed and extensive notes on the different types of guns that are enumerated in the Spanish document and on the conclusions that may be drawn from it regarding the equipment of Elisabethan ships.
