Maritime History North with their co-sponsors present their Autumn 2019 conference at The Forum, Barrow on Saturday 28 September 10.00am – 4.00pm

WARSHIPS, LINERS, SUBMARINES AND THE MAYFLY AIRSHIP BUILT IN BARROW

The topics presented will cover the history of what is now Vickers Shipbuilding and Engineering Ltd (VSEL), the contribution they made to warship design and construction, to include their warships built around the turn of the twentieth century, plus the Mayfly Airship and their ongoing program of nuclear submarine building.

The conference will be co-sponsored and supported by the Society for Nautical Research, the local branches of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, Barrow and District Association of Engineers, the Society of the Professional Engineers of South Cumbria and others.
