Society Dinner on board HMS Victory, Saturday 13 June 2020

Please note that bookings for the 2020 Society Victory Dinner have now reached the maximum 102  – either paid for or reserved. 

Numbers allowed to dine on board at any one time are strictly limited so I cannot therefore take any more automatic bookings via our website.

There is a possibility that there may be a few cancellations (as happens every year) so I have opened a ‘waiting list’.  If anyone wishes to put their name(s) down for places that may become available please do not hesitate to contact me at alistairroach@snr.org.uk..All enquiries will be done on a strictly ‘first come first served’ basis.

On Saturday 13 June Members of the Society and their guests are invited to dine on the lower gun deck of HMS Victory following the Annual General Meeting and a tour of the ship. Numbers allowed to dine on board are strictly limited. No more than 102 people can be accommodated so it is recommended that you book early to avoid disappointment.

This year the charge for the dinner, which includes the cost of the reception on the quarterdeck, is £72.00 per person. Booking is open from the beginning of February and will close at the end of April or when all seats have been sold – whichever is the earliest.

The provisional programme for the day is:

  • 2.30pm to 5.00pm. Annual General Meeting of the Society in the Princess Royal Gallery of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth followed by a tour of the refurbished ‘Victory Gallery’.
  • 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Tour of HMS Victory to which all members are invited whether or not they choose to dine.
  • 6.30pm. Reception on the quarterdeck.
  • 7.00pm. Three course dinner in the atmospheric lower gun deck.
  • 9.30pm. Leave the ship.

Any Members, or their guests, requiring a vegetarian meal or other special diet are asked to register their requirements at the time of booking – this is important. Thank you.

Please book, pay for your places, register details of any dietary requirements, details for car parking, etc. via the My Account page of the website, which can be accessed once you are logged in. Because of Ministry of Defence security arrangements only vehicles with disabled badges will be allowed to enter via Trafalgar Gate and drivers / passengers will need to identify themselves, e.g. passport or photo driving licence. All other cars will have to use the Maritime Dockyard pay-and-display or other public car parking outside the dockyard.
