Note: The Galley of the 18th Century

Abstract

Following-up a Note in MM Volume 2, Issue 6 Whall provides evidence of the use of galleys from the first half of the Eighteenth Century. From 1707-8 House of Lords’ papers he is able to provide the names of no less than six galleys, plus the Mary-galley which was built 1744.
