Note: The Signal Stations

By R Hudleston, published March 1912

Abstract

Hudleston adds further detail to the subject matter contained in MM Volume 1, Issues 7, 9 and 11 and Volume 2, Issue 2. Here he refers to official correspondence detailing those members of a signal station’s commanding officer’s family who were authorised to share his accommodation. A comical note is raised by the mention of one such officer listing his daughter as a ‘midshipman’ and gaining financial benefit from the claim. Not unsurprisingly he was dismissed the Service when his fraud was discovered.
