Abstract

Eric McKee, who died in December 1983, was a member of the Society for over 40 years and a Council Member from 1967 to 1971. In 1975 he gave the Annual Lecture on Traditional British Boatbuilding Methods and contributed a number of articles to The Mariner’s Mirror. He will be best remembered for his survey of Working Boats of Britain, which was published in 1983. This was the result of his NMM Caird Research Fellowship and was considered the definitive work on the subject.
