By R.C. Anderson, published October 1922

Abstract

The sudden death of Sir Julian Corbett in September 1922 deprived the Society of not only a founder member but one of the nation’s foremost maritime historians. His 1911 ‘Some Principles of Maritime Strategy’ became a source book for generations of trainee naval officers, both at home and abroad.
