Obituary: W. L. Wylie

Abstract

The eminent marine artist and Hon. Vice President of the Society, W. L. Wylie, died in April 1931. He devoted a considerable amount of time in support of the Society’s aim of restoring HMS Victory and produced a number of paintings which were sold to raise funds for the project. A founding member of the Society, he took the chair at the June 1910 meeting where the decision to form a society to further research into nautical history was taken.
