A Phoenician Ship of the First Century A.D.

Abstract

This article reports on an archaeological survey undertaken in Syria (1913-14), in particular the finding of a sarcophagus with a bas relief of a merchant ship in full sail. It is believed that it was sculptured in Sidan, and the author gives full details of the relief, complete with technical drawings and cross references to other sources.
