Plymouth and its Ships

By Victor F. L. Millard, published May 1946

The author gives an excellent description of all geographical details of Plymouth Sound, which from a seaman’s point of view would qualify as a valuable chapter of sailing directions. The description also contains good historical explanations of many details, with facts and events of maritime interest related to every one of them. The paper includes a long list of ships built there between 1694 and 1945.
