Abstract

An alphabetical listing of small armed merchant vessels of Folkestone owners, engaged in privateering from 1778 to about 1800, based largely on contemporary newspaper accounts. Ship’s name, tonnage, armament, master and owners are given, together with details of trades, voyages and actions in some cases.
