Extracts are here set out from an album or anthology of verses and anecdotes kept at sea by A.F. Tracy, an ancestor of the present owner Commander Tracy of the Nautical College, Pangbourne,. They reveal the sort of things that amused or distracted the ward room during the early years of the nineteenth century, such that they thought it worth recording.
