Its obviously a submarine powered by oars; however it was pre-dated by 300 years by Cornelius Drebbel’s invention of 1620. His was made of greased leather and apparently made several successful trips up and down the Thames at a depth of 15ft, including a demonstration dive in front of King James 1st.
