Somewhere in my Father’s papers is a copy drawing of the Royal Adelaide on Virginia Water that he obtained courtesy of the Royal Library at Windsor – I will try to find it. Details of the ship are also given in Gavin ‘Royal Yachts’. She was a minature frigate of some 50 tons designed by Sir William Symonds – cost £46 per ton – built at Sheerness & then taken in section to Virginia water for launching in May 1834. Broken up Oct 1877.
The guns at the RYS in Cowes came from the Royal Adelaide & were presented to the club by Edward VII when he was Prince of Wales.
