Thank you James. I am sure this formed an important part of her photographic duties.
I am informed from another source that as a fleet towing vessel photographs were taken to record the results of gunnery shoots and arial bombing runs on the targets towed astern.
The photographic facility was positioned aft above the netlaying deck which would have provided a good camera view of the target practice results.
Guardian took over the towing role from the 1915 sloop HMS Snapdragon. Her photographic arrangements were to succeed those fitted in HMS Chrysanthemum.
Great to establish all the pieces of this little bit of research into the life of this unglamorous but hard-working vessel.
