      Hello,
I am trying to find information on a Marine who resigned some time in the early to mid 1770s. He stated that he sent a letter to the Secretary of the Admiralty. I can’t seem to figure out where to look for any information. His name was Thomas George L’Ennarde Barrette though sometimes I see it just as Thomas Barrett. If anyone could point me in the right direction to verify this service, I’d greatly appreciate it.
      Thanks,

        Hello Lee,

Was it the case that Thomas Barrett/ Thomas George L’Ennarde Barrette was a commissioned officer in the Marines, or what you refer to as an enlisted man?

          Keith,
Thanks for your reply. He was a commissioned officer.
