Grateful for comments and/or help please?

I am writing about the gift Queen Victoria sent the President of the United States of America. The Presidents Desk arrived at the White House 23rd November 1880. I think it arrived at New York port on 15th November 1880.

    Despite searching I am seeking:

1: Name of the ship, which transported the gift.
2: The name of the port, the ship left England.

Deptford Navy Yard had closed around 1869, but was still in use as a naval depot in 1880. I don’t know if the assumption of Deptford is correct. I have tried the White House and the New York Port Authority, no reply yet!

Does any have a suggestion please?

    Thank you
