Ships of the Russian River System

I possess a book (in Russian)and some pictures of vessels on the Russian rivers between 1857 and 1990. These were given to me by the captain of one of them. I wonder if anyone can tell me if they are aware of any research or researchers working on the Russian river system which seems to me to be a neglected area in maritime history.

The website http://www.riverships.ru has a large amount of information [about the riverine cargo and passenger fleet of Russia, river cruise routes and liners, and about the history of inland navigation in Russia], though last updated only to 19 April 2006.
