ParticipantI was unable to attend this year’s AGM so I did not have the opportunity of hearing the reports on HMS Victory by the Commanding Officer and the Curator. Much has happened in the restoration programme in the last year. The historic ship is of course closely associated with the origins of our Society and I believe it is a pity that members, unable to attend the AGM, do not have the benefit of reading these important reports until next year’s AGM notices are sent out.
Do members agree it would be beneficial to see these reports in The Mariner’s Mirror immediately following the AGM?

ParticipantThe report presented to the AGM by the Curator of HMS Victory, detailing progress during the year, is customarily printed in the November issue of The Mariner’s Mirror. This means that those present at the AGM can hear the Curator in person, and read his report later when he has had a little more time in a very busy schedule to summarise the progress made on HMS Victory. It was very much regretted that this year the Curator was not able to be present at the AGM. However, a brief summary was given verbally by the Director of the Museum, and Andrew Baines will provide a text which will be incorporated in the Hon Secretary’s report of the AGM in the November Mariner’s Mirror.
