Abstract
Here Murray covers the history of the Admiralty between 1694 and 1697. The author describes how naval affairs were handled by several organizations: the Admiralty, the Navy Board, the Victualling Commissioners, and even the Cabinet. As there were several governing bodies, frictions and mutual distrust developed, and not only amongst these bodies, but also between its members.
