Written with the expectation that Brunel’s SS Great Britain would soon disintegrate off the Falklands Islands, the article sought to capture the details of the design, launching challenges, build and repairs including costs and earlier successful salvage and the various voyages and commercial history before the iconic vessel was lost to history.
