The Morrison Myth

Abstract

In 1937 H S Montgomerie produced a book entitled William Bligh of the “Bounty” in Fact and in Fable, in which he attacks the authenticity of the journal of James Morrison, privately published as The Morrison Myth. This article is a counter-attack, demonstrating that the Morrison document is more likely than not to be genuine and explains how it came to be where it is now kept in Australia.
