The article robustly defends the authors’ view of the reliability of the “journal” of James Morrison, one of the mutineers of HMS Bounty who was pardoned from his death sentence and went onto give service in the Royal Navy. He points to errors in the “journal” and contends it simply cannot be accepted as a reliable source.
