The North Ferriby Boats

This article updates and enlarges material first published elsewhere in September 1939.   The problems of preservation and wartime losses are made clear as are the advances in archaeological techniques during that period.   Careful acknowledgement is made of the range of support given to the project, the importance of which was very widely recognised, although the authors are too modest to speculate on the possible antiquity of the vessels.
